Improve Your Mental Health by Socializing in Pubs

Hit the bar boys—it’s good for your mental health.

A study conducted in Scotland has found that men, aged 30-50, found mental health benefits by drinking in groups in pubs. Researchers found that Scottish men tend to keep things to themselves and not talk about their mental health, but that drinking as a group in a social setting allowed them to open up. The study also suggested that the British Isles practice of drinking in rounds (one person buys a round of drinks for the whole group, and people take turns doing this; no splitting the cheque here) helped improve the communal experience; in fact, the idea that one person would buy his own drink was a bit sad.

So, thank you, Scotland. First you gave us our favourite beverage, and now you’re giving us yet another reason to consume it.
