NXNE 2012 Toronto: Must See

NXNE (June 11 – 17), now in its 18th year, is a week of 650+ musical acts, dozens of independent films and interactive presentations at over 40 venues across Toronto.  Here’s what we’re most excited to see.

MUSIC

Raekwon and Ghostface Killah
Yes, the Ice Cream man is coming! Two of the members of the legendary Wu-Tang Clan will be performing live at Yonge-Dundas Square. With almost 20 years in the game, Wu-Tang is a name synonymous with rap and they offer an unforgettable performance wherever they show up.

Matthew Good
Matthew Good Band rocked the ’90s as one of the most critically and commercially successful Canadian alternative acts of the decade. As a solo artist, Good‘s sound has evolved but he hasn’t lost his self-deprecating wit or backed down from raw, revealing exorcisms of personal demons.

INTERACTIVE

How to Win at YouTube
Ever wonder what makes a video go viral? The guys at Epic Meal Time suggest success on YouTube goes to the new players and not marketers and brands.

Punk: A Not So Unbiased Take on How it Shaped All Modern Music
Fucked Up
front man Damian Abraham’s personalized take on the punk scene and why it remains one of the most misunderstood musical genres to this day.

FILM

Cassini Mission
Imagery captured by the Cassini-Huygens spacecraft blown up on the big screen.

Going Deaf for Nothing: The Story of a Rock n’ Roll Band
The legend of Sacramento’s Magnolia Thunderfinger as seen through their eyes.

Check out stunts, sexy performances and instrumental combinations you’ve never imagined. See the full festival listings and make your own show schedule.
