We’ve talked about the possibilities of colonizing Mars through the power of reality TV, but now Buzz Aldrin, the second man on the Moon, has a plan on how to colonize the red planet.
According to Bloomberg News, Aldrin’s plan calls for three person crews to land on one of Mars’ moons and when ready, descend to Mars’ surface. The flights will be one-way and start around 2035. That gives us 22 years to get in our astronaut training.
Aldrin’s calls for a global effort to get to Mars, but wants the United States to take a leading role.
The whole plan is detailed in Aldrin’s new book, Mission to Mars.
