From cars and human skulls, 3D printing has been revolutionizing specialized fields with abandon. Now, Pirate3D believes, it’s time to bring 3D printing to the home and small business. Their more than fully funded Kickstarter (they asked for $100,000; so far, they have nearly $700,000) for their Buccaneer 3D Printer seeks to do just that.
Remember how much you paid for your first printer? An arm and a leg? Well, the Buccaneer’s price will by $347. That’s right; Makerbot’s latest model will run you $2,800, but these guys want to bring 3D printing home for a scant four bills. Apparently, we’re 3D printing from home sooner than we thought.
