Time to make up for a weekend of debauchery. Here’s how much exercise you’ll have to do in order to work off your unhealthy indulgences.
There are between 800 and 1,000 calories in your average pound of pub wings – a particular weakness of mine. Add another 350 – 400 for a side of fries, and conservatively, we’re up to 1,150 for a pub meal – not counting the beer.
The average man would have to run for roughly two hours to burn that off. Or, if you have the time and the inclination, you could walk for five hours.
The average beer has about 200 calories a pint. So, if you had a couple of pints, you could run off those 400 calories in about 45 minutes. Or you could walk for an hour and twenty.
Two slices of pepperoni pizza can easily be worked off by climbing the stairs. (For two and a half hours.)
